Minister directs officials to resolve issue of RTCs

Mandya: Revenue minister Krishna Byregowda on Tuesday directed officials to resolve the issue of RTCs in the names of deceased persons.
Speaking at the department's progress review meeting in the city, he stated that in the state, over 48 lakh RTCs are still in the names of deceased persons, which may result in several problems in the future.
He directed officials to ensure that RTCs include all details, including houses constructed. If RTCs are unclear, it will result in fake-duplicate sale deeds, adding to the public's miseries. He also directed officials to carry out a pauthi katha drive to ensure that RTCs are in the names of the real owners.
DC Kumara informed that through the su motto drive, over 34,000 applications were received and 33,000 applications processed. Officials informed that in many cases, families decline to share the death certificate, family tree and other details of the landowner due to various reasons.
The minister directed the officials to resolve cases, in which documents are unclear, with the help of local authorities and villagers. He also directed officials to complete the Aadhaar Card seeding to RTCs at the earliest.
The minister expressed his displeasure over the delay in the removal of lake encroachments. DC Kumara informed that lakes under the revenue department are now encroachment-free.
