Youths attack brothers with weapons in Shivamogga

Shivamogga: A group of youths attacked two brothers with weapons in Tippu Nagar here Tuesday evening.

The victims, Rahamat Ullah, a car dealer, and his brother Nayamat Ullah, sustained injuries in the assault, police said.

Rahamat Ullah suffered a stab wound near his right shoulder, while Nayamat Ullah sustained injuries to his left hand. Both have been admitted to McGann Hospital for treatment.

Police from Tunga Nagar police station visited the spot and launched a probe.

Recounting the incident, Rahamat Ullah said, “My daughter called me on the phone and informed me that some people were creating a ruckus near our house. I immediately rushed to the spot along with my brother. When we questioned them as to why they were fighting near our house, a group of about eight to nine youths suddenly launched an attack on us. The youths belong to Tippu Nagar.”

Shivamogga SP B Nikhil said Tunga Nagar police have registered a complaint, and an investigation is on.
