Abducted minor rescued from brothel
Nagpur: A 15-year-old girl was on Friday rescued from the red-light area of Ganga Jamuna following joint efforts of Lakadganj police and Freedom Firm, a non-government organization (NGO) working for commercial sex workers. The girl had been abducted from
Bhopal
Railways Station inMadhya Pradesh
around a decade ago and pushed into flesh trade in the city at a very young age. Lakadganj police rescued the girl from a brothel run by Bindo Patil (45), a native of Badnapur near Gwalior. Bindo told cops she was mother of Sunita (name changed) but the girl revealed the facts. Cops sent Sunita to government shelter home Karuna Vastigruha. Sunita had lost her father at an early stage. Her biological mother was mentally disturbed. Sunita had gone missing when she was being brought up by her grandfather in Bhopal. She was rescued from Bhopal railway station by a social worker who handed her over to an orphanage. Her grandfather later brought her back home. Later, the girl again went missing from Bhopal railway station where she had gone with her grandfather. It is not clear as to how Sunita fell into Bindo’s trap. Bindo handed over Sunita to her brother Shyam Kalkhor (40) who took her to Gwalior. Sunita worked as domestic help at Shyam’s place. Later, Bindo brought the girl to the red light area in the city. Police said Bindo had sent Sunita toChembur
in Mumbai where her daughter Priya worked at a dance bar. Sunita would frequently shuttle between Mumbai and Nagpur with Bindo. Senior PI SB Mane of Lakadganj police station said Bindo had past cases against her for which she was required to appear before the court. “We learnt that Bindo had kept a minor girl at her place. We sent a decoy customer to Bindo seeking the girl. As soon as minor appeared, we rescued her and nabbed Bindo,” said the PI. During search cops also found a fake Aadhaar card in Sunita’s name. Apart from Bindo and her brother Shyam, police have also booked Ranjeet Uchiya (55) and his wife Savitribai (50) as the girl blamed them for pushing her into flesh trade. The accused have been charged with Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Bindo was arrested and remanded to police custody for four days. (Reporting by Vishakha Virkhare)Popular from City
