Dhanush, T-90 tanks & K-9 Vajra to be on display in city

Nagpur: Latest weapon systems like Dhanush — the indigenous howitzer made on lines of the Swedish Bofors, T-90 tanks, K-9 Vajra tracked guns would be on display along with a range of vintage arms during the Shaurya Sandhya army exhibition to be held in the city from February 2 to 4. The event will be held at Mankapur sports stadium.“The event which is aimed to motivate youth to join the army, is expected to have over 6,000 visitors. A majority of them would be school children,” said the General Officer Commanding (GOC), of Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat (UMANG) Major General S K Vidyarthi addressing a press conference here. There will be display by helicopters, dare devil motorcycle team, dog squad apart from army bands and army’s martial arts team making it first such event to be held in the city.The event will be attended by Union minister Nitin Gadkari, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Chief of Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande and many high ranking military and civil dignitaries.
