Discussing the importance of creating awareness about environmental issues, Chatterjee said, “The future is in the hands of the young minds. We need to educate them because they can change the pathetic situation of the environment.”

The GVF team began the workshop with a play based on different environmental issues like noise and air pollution, deteriorating condition of Nag River and ignorance of citizens. The play also discussed simple methods that can help conserve the environment.

The play was followed by an interactive session. Children were divided into groups and given different environmental topics. They had to speak for two minutes on the assigned topic.

Later, GVF member Surbhi Jaiswal gave a presentation on contemporary environmental issues like climate change and depleting natural resources. She also discussed measures to tackle these issues.

Children also took part in a quiz competition and the winner was gifted a Tulsi sapling. Ravi Kushwaha, a parent, said that the workshop taught children the importance of natural resources. “It enhanced their thinking and made them curious about nature,” he added.
