Land mafia Gwalbanshi, 6 others booked for Rs14cr fraud in sale of agri field

Nagpur: Pratap Nagar police have registered a fraud case against notorious land mafia Dilip Shivdas Gwalbanshi of Makardhokda and six others for fraudulently usurping about 6.5 acres agricultural land at Mouza Gorewada by creating fake documents and dummy owners, causing fraud of Rs14 crore. The names of those booked are Kazi Nisaruddin Niyauddin of Chhaoni, Khalid Nasir Ahmad Ansari of Kamptee, Pradeep Samarthrao Gaikwad of Indira Nagar at Jattarodi, Dinesh Shankar Jadhav of Jattarodi, and Ravindra Yadavraoji Tidke of Sahuli, tehsil Kameshwar. The case was registered based on a complaint by Pramila Kishor Gaikwad, 54, of Shaniwari, Cotton Market, Imambada Road. Dinesh is Pramila's brother.Pramila's father owned 6.5 acres agricultural land at Mouza Gorewada. Her father passed away in November 2015. After his death, the 7/12 extract should have included the names of Pramila, her brother, sister and mother. But this was not done. Meanwhile, in 2017, Pramila received information that some part of this land was registered in the name of Dilip Gwalbanshi. When she inquired, she learned that her brother and others had executed a sale deed to Dilip through fake documents. Pramila filed a complaint at Kotwali police station and cops registered a fraud case. Recently, Pramila learned that another part of this land had been transferred to Dilip and other persons. She then filed a complaint at Pratap Nagar police station of fraud by Dilip and 6 others.MCOCA Action in 2017Police commissioner Dr K Venkatesham had formed a special investigation team for action against land mafia. The team led by then deputy commissioner of crime branch Sambhaji Kadam and assistant police commissioner Somnath Waghchaoure had taken action under MCOCA against Dilip Gwalbanshi, Ishwar Supretkar, Anthony alias Jeetu Swami, Ramashri Yadav and Prem Yadav in June 2017.
