Lit Fest: Vidarbha authors to take stage before biggies arrive
Nagpur: From the genre of romance to mindfulness, positivity to shayaris, authors from Vidarbha are all set to offer an enriching literature treat with a potpourri of different topics at the
Apart from the authors of national and international repute, this lithest will offer an opening act to authors from the region. Over 30 authors will address the session for a few minutes before the well-known take the stage.
Dr Naznin MA Chimthanawala, a clinical psychologist, will talk about her pocket book which will infuse positivity in one’s mind. “‘In-within’ is a handbook for every mind. It’s a great opportunity that local authors are getting a chance to promote their books here,” she said.
Piya Gajbe, from the city, will speak about her book ‘When fate kicks’. “I will be addressing the topic, ‘Striving for passion’, as that perfectly defines my book. It will be a great opportunity to interact and talk about my book to literature lovers,” she said.
Rashmi Priya, another author from Nagpur, will speak about her recent book ‘Love You Jindagi — My Journey to meet Sri Anantha Padmanabhaswamy’. “It is a motivational book on the journey of my life. The challenges which I faced and how I overcame them with the help of Sri Anantha.”
Bhagwan Vaidya is coming from Amravati to deliver a talk on his book which explores the world of ‘short-stories’. “l am Hindi writer though my mother tongue is Marathi. I will speak about my book ‘'Bonsai’. It’s a collection of 85 short stories,” he said. This book has won the National Arya Smriti Sahitya Samman in 2018.
According to advocate Madhav Bobde from the city, apart from dealing with serious law cases, it's his love for ghazals which gave birth to his book, ‘Nakshatre maltana’. “It's a Marathi gazhal and song Book. As the written work is in specific format, it can be easily composed and sung by anyone,” he said.
Bobde has written songs for Doordarshan (Nagpur) and Akashwani.
Swati Sani's book, ‘Faiz’ is a translation of couplets of Faiz Ahmad Faiz and her second book in the series. “In the book I have quoted the original ‘sher’ from Faiz in Urdu, Hindi and Roman and have written it’s English translation. I am looking forward to participate at the literary fest so more people can know about my book,” she said.
Vijaya Brahmankar has written a beautiful book about the life in old age and old age homes — ‘Sonari Sanjh’. “I will touch the topics of loneliness and longing that old age people feel,” she said.
Suresh Akotkar, from Amravati, will speak about his book ‘Eka Pawalacha Prawas’. “I am very excited. So far three of my books have been published and a couple translated into Urdu and Hindi,” he said.
