Nagpur: The year 2025 is proving to be a remarkable year for grand dramas in Nagpur. Following successful plays on Sant Tukaram Maharaj (Tuka Zalase Kalas) and RSS chiefs (Sangha Ganga Ke Teen Bharigath), another mega-drama is set to premiere.
‘Anathanch Nath', a play on the life of Sant Eknath Maharaj, will be staged on Wednesday, May 14, at Suresh Bhat Hall at 6.30pm. Devaraoji Kubde Seva Pratishthan, Nagpur, and Rashuddhi Bahuddeshiya Samajik Shaikshanik Sanstha are presenting the production.
Shyamala Kubde has produced this mega drama, with a script by Purushottam Mirashi and Vilas Kubde. Vilas Kubde is the director. Renowned actor Anil Palkar will portray Sant Eknath Maharaj, supported by over 100 Nagpur artists.
The premiere will be graced by distinguished guests including Sanjay Rahate, Executive Member of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, Mumbai; Abha Meghe, President of the Balrangabhoomi Parishad; Sandeep Kohale, Founder-President of the Vishva Warkari Seva Sanstha; and Nanaji Girsawale.
The event has garnered support from various organisations, including the Pollution Control and Citizen Health Promotion Multipurpose Organization, Lokmanya Cultural and Sports Club, Swarmanthana, Kala Gaurav Sanstha, Shri Sant Varamay Mahila Bhajan Mandal, Ajit Balak Mandir, Backward Class Gopal Samaj Kalyan Organization, Manav Shanti Cultural Foundation, Ruturaj Nagpur, and the Jyeshtha Nagrik Mahamandal.
Notably, the organisers have announced that the staging of ‘Anathanch Nath' is free of charge, extending a warm invitation to the public to attend in large numbers and partake in this spiritually enriching theatrical experience. With a series of such grand productions, Nagpur is clearly establishing itself as a vibrant hub for celebrating the lives of great figures through the powerful medium of drama in 2025.
