NAGPUR: The
Nagpur Municipal Corporation
(NMC) has started preparations for “chhath pooja” at four locations— Ambazari, Futala, Police Line Takli lakes and the overflow point of Pili river.

Nanda Jichkar along with deputy mayor Deepraj Pardikar, standing
committee
chairman Pradip Pohane, BJP corporators Dayashankar Tiwari, Roopa Rai and officials of NMC visited Ambazari and Futala lakes and performed pooja to mark the commencement of the preparations.
The office bearers directed the NMC officials to create a new way up to the Ambazari lake embankment from the
Swami Vivekananda Memorial. Directives were also given to cut grass and weeds on the beds of the two lakes.
The NMC is making arrangements for “chhath pooja” at the four locations since many years. The festival is famous among the Hindi speaking people.
