Sant Bhojaji Temple to Get ‘B’ Grade Tourism Status
Nagpur: The revered Sant Bhojaji Maharaj Temple in Wardha district is on track to receive ‘B' grade tourist destination status, following a directive from revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The move aims to unlock funds and drive infrastructure development in the Ajansara region located near Hinganghat tehsil, enhancing facilities for the lakhs of devotees who visit the temple annually.At a recent meeting held in the minister's office, the plan was discussed in detail with the participation of MLA Sameer Kunawar and Eknath Dawle, principal secretary of the rural development department. The proposal will now be formally submitted for approval."This temple draws huge crowds from Vidarbha, especially on Wednesdays, when over 50,000 devotees gather for prasad, with up to 7,000kg of dal puran prepared," said Bawankule. "The area urgently needs better roads, facilities, and sustainable development."The temple development plan includes several major projects: the Ajansara Barrage Project, new road connectivity to the national highway, construction of the Rohinighat Bridge, an Eco Park, Gram Geeta Bhavan, and a gau shala. These initiatives aim to improve access, beautify the surroundings, and support religious tourism.With ‘B' grade tourist status, the temple will gain access to state tourism funds, improved lodging facilities, and enhanced public amenities, significantly boosting the local economy and generating employment.MLA Kunawar emphasised the importance of this step, stating, "Recognising the temple as a tourist destination honours the spiritual legacy of Sant Bhojaji Maharaj and fulfils the aspirations of the local community.
