With distinct style, Konkan Kanyas cast a magic spell
Nagpur: With their distinct style, Konkan Kanya lived up to their billing as a top entertaining band, by presenting a lively show at Chitnavis Centre in Civil Lines, on Friday. The show was organized by GH Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation.
The famous Konkan Kanyas were Nikita Ghate, Arundhati Tendulkar, Duhita Kunkavlekar, Arti Satyapal, Rasika Borkar and Sneha Ayare who doubled up as the host. The band is managed by Raviraj Vijay while Vishal Sutar handles the beats and rhythms. Mrunalini Naik welcomed the band. Chairman of Raisoni group Sunil Raisoni was present.
They girls introduced themselves by their famous song ‘We are Konkan Kanya’ but began their stage show with a devotional song ‘Vakratunda Mahahakaya’.
Gradually they upped the tempo with numbers like ‘Dil hai chhotasa’, ‘Badmash dil’, ‘I love you’ and ‘Tum jo aaye zindagi mein’. Their next four back-to-back songs ‘Navrai Majhi’, ‘Nachde ne saare’, ‘He subharambh’ and ‘London Thumakda’ took the audience to an altogether different plane.
The contestants of ‘Raising Stars’, then tried to slow down the proceedings a bit with ‘Dekha ek khwaab’, ‘Dil ka bhanwar kare pukar’, ‘Sawaar loon’ and ‘Pari hun main’.
In between Sneha Ayare kept tickling the funny bones with humorous shayaris and jokes. The band concluded the show with ‘Jeev Rangala’.
