15 ZP school students, winners of Spell Bee & Maths Bee contests, visit Delhi on education trip
Nashik: Fifteen ZP school students from Stds V to VIII — winners of Spelling Bee (12) and Maths Bee (3) contests — visited Delhi on an educational tour from March 16-18 under the fully-funded ‘Dnyanyatri' initiative of the Nashik Zilla Parishad to gain exposure to national institutions and extend learning beyond the classroom. The students earned their selection through the ZP President's Cup and were accompanied by four staff members. The initiative, conceptualised by Nashik ZP chief executive officer Omkar Pawar, was made possible with support from Nashik MP Rajabhau Waje. The MP hosted the students at his official residence in the national capital. For many participants coming from remote villages, the tour was filled with first-time experiences, beginning with their inaugural flight from Nashik's Ozar Airport to the national capital."The students explored places of historical and national importance, such as Raj Ghat, Kisan Ghat, India Gate and the National War Memorial. They also interacted with tourists from Ireland, enthusiastically sharing their excitement about their first-ever plane journey," said education officer Sailata Samleti. The highlight of the tour was the visit to Parliament where the students observed the Budget Session proceedings in the new Parliament building and toured the ‘Samvidhan Bhavan' (Old Parliament House) and the Central Hall. They also received valuable guidance from MPs Rajabhau Waje and Bhaskar Bhagare and interacted with Union ministers Prataprao Jadhav and Raksha Khadse, and MPs Supriya Sule, Amol Kolhe and Nilesh Lanke."The students also visited Rashtrapati Bhavan, where they learned about its grand architecture and functional protocols. Their tour covered the President's official residence, the Durbar Hall (where major state honours are presented) Ashoka Hall (used for ceremonial engagements with foreign dignitaries), the Banquet Hall (used for state dinners) and the Marble Hall. Detailed information was provided to them at each stop," Samleti said.Emphasising the purpose behind the initiative, ZP CEO Pawar said, "Students from rural areas possess immense potential but often lack adequate guidance. This tour was held to help bridge this gap."
