These projects - proposed by the corporators - are estimated at a cost of Rs 64 crore and could be delayed by 5-6 months till the work order is issued. However, after two months the code of conduct would be imposed for the civic election due in February 2017. Also, out of this Rs 64 crore, only Rs34.54 crore has been estimated and sent to the concerned departments for approval.

"The remaining Rs 30 crore is yet to come. Even the estimated Rs 34.54 crore will have to be checked by the concerned departments after which it will go the general body for approval and then the municipal commissioner will sign it. After that it will be sent to the standing committee for approval. Once the standing committee gives its approval, tenders will be called and by the time the work order is given 5-6 months will have passed. Now, the code of conduct will be implemented in two months and this work will remain pending," said a source from the administrative department of Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC).

First, the corporators had been complaining of files getting sanctioned, then the delay in the estimation and now it seems that the developmental projects will not be implemented during this term of the civic body. "Once the code of conduct is imposed we will not be able to float tenders which means all these works would not begin in this term," said the source.
