Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with zeal & enthusiasm
Nashik / Kolhapur: Members of the Muslim community gathered in large numbers to offer namaz at various places on Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday.In Nashik city, people offered namaz at the historic Shah Jahani Eidgah grounds, while the main event was held at 10 am under the guidance of Shahr-e-Khatib Hafiz Hisamuddin Ashrafi at Eidgah Maidan.Dressed in traditional attire, members of the Muslim community began converging at the Eidgah from 8:00 am. The roads were filled with people donning kurta pyjamas, Islamic caps, and feta, creating a vibrant and devout atmosphere. Before the namaz commenced, Hafiz Hisamuddin Ashrafi briefed the attendees on the prayer method. Following the prayers, he delivered the ‘Khutba’ in Arabic, which was received in reverent silence by the congregation. A special ‘prayer’ was made for Hindu-Muslim unity and the continued prosperity of brotherhood and harmony. Deputy commissioner of police Prashant Bachhav, Vijay Kumar Chavan, MP Hemant Godse, among others, extended greetings to the Muslim community. In Wadalagaon, Indiranagar, CIDCO and Ambad, Muslim brothers marked Ramzan Eid with joy. Security was beefed up at Ambad police station and Indiranagar Wadala due to the presence of multiple mosques.In Malegaon town, prayers held at 14 locations, including the main Eid Gah Maidan on Camp Road. MLA Maulana Mufti Ismail led the prayers. He also touched upon the importance of voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, urging the community to exercise their democratic rights and participate in the electoral process.In Kolhapur, Eid-Ul-Fitr was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Members of the Muslim community offered holy namaz at various mosques in the city. Head of the royal family of Kolhapur Shahu Maharaj Chhatrapati visited the Muslim Boarding ground and greeted the members with Ramzan Eid wishes.On this occasion, Mufti Irshaad Kunnure, Hafiz Akib Mhaldar and Moulana Rahmatullah Konkane read out the namaz for the attendees at the Muslim Boarding ground. Prayers were offered for peace and harmony in Kolhapur and across the country. Later, the community members hugged and wished each other for Eid.Gani Ajrekar, chairman of Muslim Boarding, said, “Eid-ul-Fitr is a celebration of successful completion of a month-long holy fast and is a time to express gratitude to Allah for his blessings and for the strength to observe the fast. It is a time for forgiveness and reconciliation, for strengthening family and community ties, and for performing acts of charity and kindness towards those in need.”“Muslims around the world celebrate this holy day with prayer, feasting, and festivities that may last for up to three days. It is a joyous occasion that brings people together,” added Ajrekar.
