Heritage week to showcase coins, arms and ammunition in Nashik

Based on the theme of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the exhibition will showcase 'Hon' (gold coins) and 'Shivrai' (regular coins) used during the era.
Virag Sontakke, assistant director of the Department of Archaeology, said "There are many people who collect coins and other heritage paraphernalia as their hobby. They have agreed to display their personal collection during the event."
Rudra Majethia, a painter by profession, will exhibit his paintings in the event. A history-lover, Anant Thakur, will display his collection of arms and ammunition of Maratha period. Besides coins, paintings, arms and ammunition and books published by the department will also be displayed.
To make the week interesting and informative, lectures and workshop along with a heritage walk will be organized.
The event will be inaugurated at 10.30 am by historians from the city. Though the
