Nashik police to ensure peace & calm

Nashik: The Nashik city and rural police will deploy over 2,500 personnel to ensure a peaceful Ganpati festival.
City police commissionerate officials told TOI four deputy commissioners, seven assistant commissioners, 59 inspectors, 67 assistant inspectors and 127 sub-inspectors assisted by 3,000 personnel and 1,000 home guards will patrol across the city.
For rural areas, the superintendent’s office will deploy two additional police superintendents, eight deputy SPs, five inspectors, three assistant inspectors and eight sub-inspectors during the festivities.
The rural and city police will also be assisted by about 2200 personnel, 1,650 home guards, six units of RCP and three units of State Reserve Police Force.
QR Codes at Mandals
For the first time, the city police will put up and scan QR codes at all Ganesh mandals to keep a check on safety developments during the festival.

Two women IPS officers from the Delhi Police have been attached to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to assist in the investigation of violence cases in Manipur. STF production warrants for dismissed inspector

The Special Task Force (STF) has obtained a production warrant for Inderjit Singh, a sacked CIA in-charge inspector and accused in a drugs case. Inderjit, who is currently in jail, will be brought to court on September 18. He was dismissed from service in 2016 after being arrested with heroin, cash, and weapons in his possession. In other news, a special court has deferred arguments on the enforcement directorate's petition for production warrants of Roop Bansal, and Pakistan's Supreme Court has upheld the convictions of two former army officers involved in a coup plot.
