NAVI MUMBAI: The Kamothe police are looking for a courier company employee who allegedly stole several parcels containing smartphones and gold coins worth Rs 3.9 lakh.

Pawan Tiwari, a supervisor-cum-delivery boy at Vaishali Trans Carrier Pvt Ltd in Kamothe, would send only a portion of the parcels that were meant to be returned to Amazon, the online retailer. Tiwari would also scan only some of the parcels that came in and pocket the rest.

A notification from the online retailer brought the incident to light in April. When a junior manager at the courier firm questioned him, Tiwari confessed and said he would return the items or repay the amount. However, he fled.

untraceable

since May 12, the police said. They suspect he has fled to his hometown in UP.
