Delayed by months for lockdown, Noida to start work on 4 parks soon

NOIDA: The

Noida Authority

will start work on four parks in the city soon.


The projects have been delayed because of the lockdown and are now likely to pick up pace, officials said.

Ved Van in Sector 78 will be built at a cost of Rs 28 crore. The park will come up on 12 acre. A dog park is being planned near Sector 137 and the project will cost Rs 3.5 crore. A children’s park will be developed near Shilp Haat, Sector 33, and it will cost Rs 8 crore. A waste-to-wonder park from recycled plastic and wood is being planned at Kalindi Kunj.

Officials said the details are being worked out and a proposal will be submitted to the authority soon.

While tenders for horticulture and electrical work have been issued for Ved Van, the parks at Sector 137 and Sector 33 will be built on a public private partnership model. “Three tenders were to be issued for Ved Van for horticulture, electrical and civil work. Work in the first two departments will start from Tuesday. For civil work, six bids have come and they are being reviewed. Modalities will be finalised by Tuesday,” said Indu Prakash, the officer on special duty, Noida Authority.

Officials said the park will have 50,000 plant and shrub species. It will also have 1,250 trees, including banyan, neem and coconut and a wall with paintings from the Vedas. The area will be divided into seven zones and each of those will be named after a sage. The dog park will come up on 2 acre and it will have a play area, walkways and swings, especially designed for pets. The plan is to have vets, dog trainers and kiosks for dog food in the area, officials said.

had directed that an adventure park be developed near Shilp Haat. While the design has been submitted by the consultant appointed, we will finalise the cost details soon,” Prakash said, adding that it is likely to have a labyrinth and a climbing area for kids. The parks are likely to be ready by early next year, officials said.
