Noida: A driver engaged with a logistics company has been booked for allegedly fleeing with jewellery worth Rs 66 lakh while transporting valuables from Noida to Kolkata on May 25.

Ananda Bagchi, assistant manager at PC Chandra Jewellers, said the company had a tie-up with a private security company BVC Logistics, which transported jewellery regularly. He said Prateek and Jogesh, executives of the firm, arrived at the Noida showroom on Wednesday afternoon with a driver named Sonu.
"We handed over jewellery to them. The jewellery weighed 2.5 kg They gave use a receipt. However, in the evening we received a call from the company officials that the driver had gone missing with the valuables," Bagchi said. Police said the executives had stopped in Delhi to collect valuables from another showroom.
