Greater Noida gets first outdoor gym, 34 more to come up

GREATER NOIDA: The first

outdoor gymnasium

of

Greater Noida

was inaugurated on Thursday.

The colourful

gym

has 17 different equipment and has been set up in the revamped

Mihir Bhoj Park

, also known as the City Park. While marking their 30th foundation day on Thursday,

GNIDA

officials said that in the next three months, 34 such gyms will be set up across the city in various residential sectors.

Narendra Bhooshan, chief executive officer of the authority, said that each gym is being set up with a budget of around Rs 5.5 crore and the equipment set up will provide effective workout for the joints and muscles.

Meanwhile, authority officials gave out cash rewards to four

housing societies

for winning the waste disposal

competition

under various parameters. While Stellar Jeevan was adjudged the best for treating solid waste effectively on the premises,

Eldeco

Residency Greens and Eldeco Mystic Greens bagged the second spot jointly. Rail Vihar society secured the third spot. The winner received Rs 2 lakh while Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 1 lakh along with certificates were given to the first and the second runner ups, respectively. Of the total 120 bulk waste generators, 52 group housing societies had participated in the competition.

More than 1,500 students took part in the hackathon competition and they were divided into 500 teams. Sudhanshu Sharma, Pranjal Kumar, Anirudh Sharma and Prateek Gupta from

Sharda University

bagged the top spot.
