UP man hits mother on head with iron utensil, wooden stick after fight, kills her; arrested
NOIDA: A 55-year-old woman died after being allegedly assaulted by her differently abled son in Jewar on Wednesday.
Police said Krishna Kumar (25) had an argument with his mother, Rukmini Devi, at their cattle shed and struck her on the head with an iron utensil and a wooden stick, causing her serious injuries. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died during treatment.
Based on a complaint lodged by Rukmini's husband, Virendra Singh, police registered a case against Krishna under BNS Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and took him into custody.
Virendra told police that their son had been suffering from mental illness and had undergone treatment at various places for several years, but his condition did not improve. He was irritable and had wandered out of the house about 10 days ago.
On Tuesday evening, the family traced him and brought him back home.
Police said that on Wednesday afternoon, Krishna was in the cattle shed and Rukmini Devi had gone there for a chore, when an argument broke out between them. In a fit of rage, he allegedly attacked her on the head with a stick and an iron utensil.
Neighbours said such disputes were common in their household and hence they did not intervene.
Station in-charge Sanjay Singh said the investigation will be conducted keeping Krishna's disability in mind. The police also conducted a forensic examination of the crime scene.
The wooden stick and the utensil were seized and sent for further examination. The body of the deceased was sent for autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death.
