NOIDA: Unidentified thieves stole a laptop from a parked car after smashing its windows in
Greater Noida
(West) on Friday evening.
The car and the laptop belong to an employee of a media group.
Ashish Bhatt, the complainant, who works at
Film City
in Noida, said while returning to his home in
Panchsheel Greens
, he stepped out of the car for some work and left it locked.
He returned after five minutes only to find his car's windows smashed and the laptop missing.
After being informed, a police team reached the spot.
The police disclosed that a similar incident was reported near the Ajnara Society.
Ashish said that when he reported the incident to the police, they said that people like him often park their vehicles carelessly. A police officer even asked him why he left the laptop in the vehicle unattended.
Ashish said that apart from the laptop, he was also carrying his documents in the bag.
He said that police scanned
CCTV
footage from the cameras installed in nearby shops but to no avail. They later asked him to file an e-FIR.
