Noida: A 29-year-old trainee doctor allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 21st floor of a highrise apartment in Gaur City 14th Avenue in Greater Noida West on Monday afternoon.
Shiva Sharma was pursuing his internship at a Greater Noida hospital and was staying temporarily with his sister, a resident of the society.
Police said the incident occurred around noon when Sharma suddenly walked out of the apartment and leapt from the corridor. A senior police officer, "He fell directly onto the ground floor, sustaining severe head injuries that caused instant death. No suicide note has been recovered."
Additional DCP (Central Noida) Shavya Goyal said, "His relatives were present in the apartment at the time. The body has been sent for postmortem." On Sunday, Sharma had arrived at his sister's flat along with his parents. Officers said they are checking CCTV footage to verify the sequence of events.
