12 babies of wolves born in Patna zoo

Patna: Four wolves of endangered Indian Grey Wolf species gave birth to 12 pups in the last 15 days at the Patna zoo, taking the count of the animals to 20 there. Giving this information on Saturday, Patna zoo director Hemant Patil said all the pups were doing fine. "It is for the first time that four wolves of Indian Grey Wolf species have given birth to 12 pups at the Patna zoo. All the babies are healthy. Now, the number of the species has gone up to 20 at the zoo," he said, adding, captive breeding of endangered species is very difficult and the zoo staff should be commended for their work in this regard. Patil said the Indian Grey Wolf prefers to live in groups and in Bihar it is found in the Valmiki Tiger Reserve. A male and female wolves were brought for the first time at the Patna zoo from the Mysuru zoo in 2014 and some more were added in 2017 and 2018 from the Vandalur zoo in Tamil Nadu, said the director.Check out the Valentine Day 2025 , along with the Valentine’s Day Wishes and Messages.
