2 guards of Khan Sir’s coaching institute arrested over violence
Patna: Two security guards of Faisal Khan alias Khan Sir’s coaching institute in Patna were arrested on Thursday in connection with firing during an attack on the centre on the night of June 2. Videos circulating online show a group assaulting a security guard, pelting bricks and stones, and tearing down posters outside the institute. While firing was initially reported, the Patna Police denied it.
Meanwhile, at a press conference on Thursday, a member of the accused coaching team alleged that the firing was carried out by Khan Sir’s guard on his instructions. He claimed the incident was pre-planned and questioned the arrest of coaching director Roshan Anand, stating he is not seen in the video. The team demanded Khan Sir’s arrest.
City SP, Central, Diksha said, “Police reached Khan Sir’s coaching centre after the video surfaced. Two guards seen firing in the footage were taken to Kadamkuan police station. After 3 hours of questioning, both were arrested. The guards admitted to firing on Khan Sir’s instructions. Their weapons have been seized for forensic verification. A fresh FIR has been filed at Kadamkuan police station after verifying the video.”
Police also questioned Khan Sir inside the coaching centre.
Meanwhile, more than 5,000 students took to the streets demanding the release of coaching director Roshan Anand. A march was taken from the coaching centre to Kargil Chowk.
Around 10 pm on June 2, the coaching centre was allegedly attacked. A guard was beaten, stones were pelted, and posters were torn. Khan Sir initially claimed that 8–10 rounds were fired, but later distanced himself from the statement.
Following an FIR lodged by Khan Sir’s side, police arrested coaching director Roshan and his associates Abhishek and Gaurav, accusing them of orchestrating the attack. All three were sent to Beur jail under judicial custody.
Roshan, while being produced in court on June 3, called the incident a conspiracy. “Police earlier clarified there was no firing. This is a plot to destroy me and my coaching. I wasn’t aware of the incident. I’m a kidney patient and had surgery last year,” he said.
He further alleged he is being targeted as his institute’s students performed well in the Bihar Police recruitment examination.
