3 teachers from state to receive national awards

Patna: As many as three teachers from Bihar are among the 50 who have been chosen for the 2023 National Awards to Teachers to be presented by President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on September 5.Anil Kumar Singh of Adarsh Girls Senior Secondary School-Ramgarh, Dwijendra Kumar Suman of Middle School-Madhubani, Sitamarhi and Kumari Guddi of High School Singhia-Kishanganj will get the national award for their exemplary work in the field of education and innovative teaching.

According to official sources, a list of six teachers from Bihar was sent to the central government of which three were selected for the national awards. The other three teachers nominated by the state included Arjun Kumar Saha of Upgraded Middle School-Madhepura, Sangeeta Kumari of T N +2 High School-Kaluahi in Madhubani district and Umesh Kumar Yadav of Hariharpur Middle School-Hajipur in Vaishali district.All the six nominated teachers were subjected to various tests and they had to answer the witty questions of the four-member jury for the award. They reportedly impressed the jury with their innovative ideas for the betterment of education. They also gave their own presentations before the jury members. After rigorous selection process and several rounds of tests, three were selected. Each teacher will get Rs 50,000 in cash, a silver medal and a certificate of merit.The award ceremony will be held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Teachers’ Day. These selected teachers will be arriving in the national capital on September 3, and their boarding and lodging arrangements have been made at a posh hotel from September 3 (afternoon) till September 6 (forenoon). A briefing meeting will be held on September 3 at 5pm at the hotel to discuss the schedule of the upcoming days.
