Patna: The All India Students’ Association (AISA), Patna University, on Thursday organised a protest march on the Patna College campus, raising concerns over alleged irregularities in recruitment and entrance examinations, including teacher recruitment exam, and police action against aspirants.
A large number of students participated in the march led by AISA leaders Nitish, Saba, Aditi, Azad, Ashish, Sumit, Monu, Adarsh, Deepu, Mohini and Yusuf. The protesters raised slogans against corruption in the education system and criticised the repressive govt policies.
Addressing the gathering, AISA (PU) president Nitish alleged that repeated incidents of paper leaks in examinations such as NEET and AEDO had eroded students’ trust. He claimed that the issue reflected a “deep-rooted problem” and demanded accountability from the authorities concerned.
AISA secretary Saba expressed concern over the treatment of Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0 aspirants. She alleged that peaceful protesters were subjected to police action and raised questions over safety, particularly for women candidates. She urged the administration to ensure that democratic rights of students are protected.
During the protest, AISA demanded an immediate halt to police action against aspirants, release of those detained, and steps to prevent paper leaks. The association also called for action against those responsible for alleged irregularities in recent examinations and sought early announcement of fresh dates for affected tests.
The organisation warned that it would intensify its stir across the state if the demands were not addressed.
