Araria election results 2024 live updates: BJP's Pradeep Kumar Singh secures victory

NEW DELHI: Pradeep Kumar Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the winner securing 600,146 votes.

In Araria Lok Sabha constituency, all eyes are on whether BJP's Pradeep Kumar Singh gets a second term or RJD's Mohammed Shahnawaz Alam gets the seat. The early trends showed Singh leading towards victory in the constituency.

Araria is one of the 40 parliamentary constituencies of Bihar. Lok Sabha elections in Araria were held in the third phase on May 7.

A voter turnout of 61.93% was witnessed in the constituency. Female voter turnout remained 67.32% and male voter turnout stood at 56.97%.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Pradeep Kumar Singh of the BJP emerged victorious by receiving 52.87% of the votes polled. He won against Sarfaraz Alam of RJD who got 41.14% of the votes polled.

In the 2014 elections, Tasleem Uddin of the Rashtriya Janata Dal won the Lok Sabha election by securing 407,975 votes, capturing 42.5% of the votes. The runner-up was Pradeep Kumar Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who secured 261,470 votes, accounting for 27.3% of the votes.
