Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM springs surprise in Bihar, wins Kishanganj assembly byelection

on Thursday sprung a surprise in the bypoll to Kishanganj assembly constituency of Bihar, signalling that the party may finally get a foothold in the state's politics.

Qamrul Hoda, who had initially faced rebellion from within the party, emerged as the dark horse by winning Kishanganj seat by 11,000 votes.

Saeeda Bano of the Congress making her debut in the byelection necessitated by her son Mohd Javed getting elected to the Lok Sabha put up a feeble fight.
