Bhagalpur DM calls for a drug-free society

Bhagalpur: Bhagalpur district magistrate Nawal Kishor Choudhary, along with other district officials, participated in a ‘de-addiction rally' on Tuesday to mark the ‘Nasha Mukti Diwas'. The rally was aimed at inspiring people to renounce intoxicants and motivate others to do the same.The march traversed the city's main streets and was followed by activities such as an essay competition, elocution, group discussions and a painting competition for schoolchildren in the district collectorate. The DM awarded prizes to the winners of these competitions.Speaking on the occasion, the DM urged officials from the social welfare, excise and education departments to intensify awareness campaigns, particularly targeting vulnerable adolescents. "Drug abuse and other forms of intoxication are like viruses and our role should be to eradicate such viruses," he said.
