Sports Academy tableau bagged the first prize on the

70th Republic day

on Saturday. Sixteen tableaux of different government departments were displayed during the R-Day celebrations at Gandhi Maidan.


The tableau of Upendra Maharathi Shilp Anusandhan Sansthan displaying ‘khadi and handloom culture in Bihar’ was adjudged the second best. Bihar Project Education Council’s tableau on ‘Samagra Shiksha’, a scheme of central government announced in the Union budget of 2018-2019, won the third prize while state health department bagged the fourth prize for its tableau on ‘ASHA-base of public health’.

The other departments that displayed their tableaux during the function were urban development and housing department, women development corporation (WDC), transport department, Jeevika and IPRD, among others. Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) displayed its tableau on non-conventional energy sources and energy-efficient solutions.

Transport department’s tableau was displayed for the very first time in the Republic Day celebrations. Their tableau was a combination of different initiatives taken by the department. Jeevika’s tableau was focused on ‘entrepreneurial women-better state.’

Information and public relations department (IPRD) showcased Sabhyata Dwar, the new landmark of Patna while WDC’s tableau was themed on ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Uthan Yojana’. Tourism department showcased the ropeway being developed at Rajgir, while state election commission’s tableau had the theme of ‘No voter to be left behind’.

Meanwhile, SSB walked away with the best parade award in professional category and NCC girls were declared the best in non-professional parade category. In the turnout category, STF was adjudged the best in professional and NCC air wing in non-professional sections. Home guard rural walked away with the best platoon commander award in the professional category and NCC Navy won it in the non-professional category.
