PATNA:

Jain

devotees from different parts of the state assembled at the Dadabari Jain Temple in Patna City to celebrate Dev Diwali on Kartik Purnima on Saturday.

Illuminated with colourful lights for the occasion, the four-century-old temple saw the devotees perform ‘Deep ki aarti’ and ‘Sandhya’ with family and friends.

Jain Sangh president Pradip Jain said Jain monks reside at one place for four months of the rainy season, also called ‘Chaturmas’, as per the Jain tradition.

“From the day of Kartik Purnima or Dev Diwali, they travel to different destinations all over the country for the next eight months,” he said, adding Jain monks start their journey after the Dev Diwali puja.
