PATNA: In a first, there will be a spectacular rain of flowers on the
Mahavir
temple and devotees in queues waiting to offer prayers to Lord Ram on the occasion of
Ram Navami
on Sunday.
Three drones provided by a Delhi-based devotee of Lord Ram and
Hanuman
, on condition of keeping his identify secret, will carry out the hour-long showering of petals of a variety of flowers, such as rose, marigold and chandrakala for free.

said a rehearsal of the flowers rain would be held on Saturday. “The main idea behind the move is to recreate the legendary scene of all the deities showering flowers from the sky on the birth of Lord Ram,” he added.
The temple, however, will provide about 100kg of flowers for showering from drones. About three lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple on Ram Navami. Kunal said, “A three-dimensional cutout of Lord Ram in his childhood will open with switching of button in the temple so as to present an attractive glimpse of the Lord.”
A special laddoo weighing 108kg will be offered to Lord Ram while 25,000kg of laddoo will be made available for offering as ‘naivedyam’.
