: In what appears to be a vengeful act, a girl gunned down the father of a youth, who had allegedly blackmailed her elder sister and forced her to commit suicide, in full public view at Alampur Bazar under
Baddi
police station in
Rohtas
district on Thursday.
The girl,
Shivam Pandey (20), student of a Sasaram-based college, was caught by the locals and handed over to police. The victim has been identified as Gopi Chand Shaw, a trader.
According to police sources, Shaw’s son had allegedly blackmailed Shivam’s elder sister with whom he had an affair, forcing her to commit suicide. “During interrogation, Shivam confessed to the police that she was looking for an opportunity to avenge her sister’s death,” sources added. “On Thursday evening, the girl reached the shop of her sister’s alleged lover carrying a pistol. The youth was not present there. His father, who was manning the shop, used filthy languages against her. The girl then pumped bullets into Shaw’s chest in a fit of rage, killing him on the spot,” they added.
