PATNA: One Jitendra Kumar Sah (30), husband of a newly elected ‘upmukhiya’ (deputy head) of
Kanholi Dhanraj panchayat
Priyanka Devi, was shot dead by motorcycle-borne criminals near Sundarnagar on Hajipur-Mahua main road under the Sarai police station area in Vaishali district on Friday night. The victim was a resident of Vishanpura under Mahua police station.
The incident occurred around 11.15pm when Sah was returning home on a scooty after closing his grocery shop at Ranipokhar. The criminals escaped after committing the crime.
Locals rushed to the spot and found Sah lying in a pool of blood. They took Sah to a local hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. Police have recovered two empty cartridges from the spot. According to police, two bullets had hit Sah’s chest.
Sah’s family members have alleged that he was murdered over a political rivalry.

cameras installed in the locality is being scanned to identify the criminals and arrest them,” he said.
Angry people blocked the road near
Panapur
school on Saturday demanding immediate arrest of the criminals.
The roadblock was lifted around 1pm after police intervention.
