Munger girl brought to PMCH for treatment
PATNA: Munger’s Sana (3) was admitted to
“The CT scan we conducted showed the haemorrhage is likely to dissolve very soon. A team of paediatrician, ophthalmologist, neurosurgeon, ENT specialist and dermatologist assessed her situation and will monitor her round-the-clock,” PMCH superintendent Dr Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said. Sana is in the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
This reporter saw Sana responding to the voices around her, but her face was swollen with her eyes narrow slit. The skin had turned brown above her right ear where it seemed she had sustained some injury.
On being asked if Sana complained of any pain, her mother Sudha Kumari said no. “My main concern is the swelling on her face. She is eating ‘
PMCH paediatric department head Dr Anil Kumar Jaiswal said blood and fluid were seen on one side of the skull covering the brain. “All her vitals are stable. The best thing is that she is conscious. All precautions are being taken. A special roster of doctors on emergency duty has been prepared for her,” Dr Jaiswal said. Clinically, Sana seemed fine, he said and added, “The neurosurgeon who examined her also said there seemed to be no internal injury, but we will still take precautions.”
Sana had fallen into a borewell while playing at her maternal grandfather Umesh Nandan Prasad’s home at Murgiachak in Munger on Tuesday evening. She was rescued from 43 feet depth by the NDRF, state disaster response force and the Army personnel after over 28 hours.
