Short film highlights Orwell’s life and works
MOTIHARI:
Eric Arthur, commonly known as George Orwell, was born in Motihari on June 25, 1903, where his father Richard Arthur Blair was in-charge of opium godown during the British rule. He died on January 21, 1950 in London.
At a function organized at the birthplace of the English author in Gyanpul Chowk locality of Motihari, the committee shared the short film with all the participants.

ASP Gaurav said the 30-minute documentary is enough to highlight Orwell’s views on anti-imperialism and his lifestyle. He said Motihari, the ‘karmabhumi’ of Mahatma Gandhi, also takes pride in being the birthplace of Orwell.

, shot in limelight through his another documentary on the British writer, ‘George Orwell – But Why’. In his fresh documentary, Mukherjee has compared the philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi with Orwell.
