Patna: JD(U) MLA from Sonbarsa, Ratnesh Sada, will be sworn in as a cabinet minister on June 16. The Raj Bhavan on Wednesday issued a notification regarding swearing-in ceremony of Sada, who has been nominated as minister by CM Nitish Kumar.
A three-time MLA, Sada has been winning Sonbarsa (SC) seat since 2010. Sada, who belongs to HAM(S)’s Santosh Kumar Suman’s ‘Musahar’ (rat catcher) caste, might be made the minister of SC/ST welfare department, the post lying vacant after resignation by Suman on Tuesday.
Suman, who is the son of former CM and HAM(S) founder Jitan Ram Manjhi, quit the state cabinet, saying, “I quit the minister’s post to protect the party after Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) gave a proposal to merge the HAM(S) with the JD(U).”
Earlier on Tuesday, Sada was invited by the CM at the latter’s residence to apprise him of the new assignment.
