: Criminals killed a teacher of a private school at
Dharamshala Chowk
, few metres from the Town police station, in
Aurangabd
on Friday evening. The deceased was identified as Kamalkant Choubey, a resident of Pokhraha village under the Barun police station area.
Police said the crime followed a heated argument between one Ajeet Kumar Singh of Dabura village and Nitesh Choubey, who was accompanying Kamalkant. Ajeet and his two friends allegedly attacked the teacher with a sharp-edged weapon and killed him on the spot.
Irate locals blocked the NH-2, alleging poor law and order in the district and demanding arrest of the killers. They also threw stones at the police personnel who tried to end the blockade. Later, police resorted to lathicharge after SDPO (sadar) P N Sahu rushed to spot.
According to the SDPO, an FIR has been lodged in this connection against Ajeet Singh, Babloo Singh and Sanjay Singh. "The motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained," he said and added raids were on to nab the culprits.
A separate FIR will be lodged against protesters for taking law into their hands, the DSP said, adding police were scanning the video footage to identify the troublemakers.
