Three-year RI for amin of Rajgir circle

Patna: The special judge (vigilance), Patna, convicted Rajaram Singh, amin of Rajgir circle, Nalanda under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 (Amended 2018) on Tuesday. He was sentenced three-year rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 1 lakh. He will be sentenced three-month simple imprisonment in case of non-deposition of fine by the accused.The case pertains to Singh demanding a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from the complainant Parmanand Singh for survey of his paternal land of 20 Bighas. After bargaining he became ready to do the favour in Rs 5 lakh. The accused was caught red handed by Vigilance Investigation Bureau during the trap operation conducted on October 9, 2018.
