Jharkhand governor Radhakrishnan given additional charge of Telangana, Puducherry

PUDUCHERRY: The President of India has accepted the resignation of Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan as governor of Telangana and lieutenant governor of Puducherry, said a press communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.

The communique said the President was also pleased to appoint Jharkhand governor C P Radhakrishnan to discharge the functions of the Telangana governor and Puducherry lieutenant governor in addition to his own duties until regular arrangements are made.

The appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.

In a social media post, Radhakrishnan said he was “humbled and blessed to be given the additional responsibility to serve as the Telangana governor and Puducherry lieutenant governor.”

He thanked the President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for giving him the great additional responsibility to serve our motherland.
