PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry govt has engaged Ernst & Young LLP (E & Y) to prepare a master plan for Sedarapet-Karasoor industrial estate through the govt-owned Puducherry Industrial Promotion Development and Investment Corporation (Pipdic). A team from the multinational consultancy firm gave a presentation to chief minister N Rangasamy and his cabinet colleagues in the presence of the speaker of the legislative assembly of Union territory of Puducherry.
Rangasamy suggested E & Y to expedite preparing the action plan and to accord priority to orange and green-category industries. He also suggested establishing an IT park and an apparel park in the now defunct Anglo-French Textiles (AFT) in the town limits.
Earlier, Pipdic engaged E & Y to prepare a strategic investment plan under Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme of Union micro, small and medium enterprises ministry to develop and strengthen MSMEs in Puducherry.
