PUNE: The city police on Monday claimed to have cracked the June 20 theft of cash, gold ornaments and silverware totally worth Rs30 lakh from a vegetable wholesale trader’s 10th floor flat in a gated society at Bibwewadi gaothan.

The declaration comes following the arrest of a criminal on police records, his brother-in-law and a friend, and the recovery of the stolen property from the trio.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP-Zone V) Namrata Patil said, “The breakthrough came when the city crime branch officials arrested main suspect Mushtaque Shakeel Ansari (34), an auto driver.”
