PUNE: A 45-year-old man was found stabbed to death in an open plot in

on Sunday afternoon in yet another suspected crime of passion.

Further, following the discovery, the caretaker (36) of a bungalow in

Nigdi

was arrested on the suspicion of having killed him.

Elaborating on the details of the crime, police inspector (PI)

Kishor Patil

of the Chinchwad police told TOI, “The victim worked as a driver at the same bungalow and knew the caretaker fairly well. The bungalow’s caretaker killed the victim after suspecting the latter of having an illicit relationship with his wife.”

The cop added, “The caretaker called the driver to an open plot under the pretext of consuming liquor together and stabbed the latter to death once he was sure that the victim was drunk.”

Patil further said that the victim was found with stab wounds on his neck, chest, stomach and back.

“Initially, we could not trace the suspect. With the help of technical investigation and informants, we took the caretaker into custody. A case has been filed under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (

IPC

),” Patil stated.
