PUNE: Former corporator Yogesh Mulik on Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the
Pune Municipal Corporation elections from Ward No. 5 (D), Kalyani Nagar–Vadgaonsheri. He is contesting as the official candidate of the
Bharatiya Janata Party under the Mahayuti alliance.
Mulik submitted his nomination at the Vadgaonsheri regional office in the presence of party workers and supporters. Speaking to reporters after filing his papers, Mulik said that his focus would remain on development and improving civic amenities in the ward.
“The people of Kalyani Nagar and Vadgaonsheri have shown faith in me in the past. I am entering this election with a clear vision for development and a commitment to honest and dedicated work for the overall progress of the ward,” Mulik said.
He added that issues such as road infrastructure, water supply, traffic management, cleanliness and better public facilities would be his priorities if elected. Mulik also emphasised the need for planned development to address the challenges arising from rapid urbanisation in the area.
Party leaders said Mulik’s experience as a former corporator and his grassroots connect with residents would strengthen the BJP’s prospects in the ward. The PMC elections are expected to be held next year, with campaigning likely to intensify in the coming weeks.
