MCVS, DVCA win; Nanded defy PBKJCA for draw
Pune: Maharashtra Cricket Vikas Sanstha won by three wickets against Kings at Global 24 Sports in Pune after enforcing a follow on in the Super League of MCA invitation cricket meet of two-day games.Hardik Sethi (52*) and Saransh Bhargav (36) made vital contributions in the chase after left-arm spinner Hitesh Walunj took 12 wickets in the match, including 8-58 in the first innings. Kings, who were shot out for 117 replying to 228, responded with 213 in the second innings. Siddhesh Warghante scored 78 at the top.Captain Rushabh Rathod of Parsee Gymkhana followed up his duck with 135 after following on but his team still lost to DVCA at Veerangana ground. Sohan Jamale had taken 6-23 in the first innings when Parsee Gymkhana were bowled out for 87.PBKJCA fell short by just one wicket in their bid to beat Nanded by an innings after their opener Onkar Khatpe scored a double ton. Nanded were bowled out for 86 replying to 374-6 declared. But captain Yash Yadav (54*) held fort in the second innings as Nanded ended at 233-9 to eke out a draw and one point.Left-arm spinner Satyajeet Bacchav was wicketless in the match but his Nashik team still managed to beat Sindhudurg by an innings and nine runs at Desire groud, Pune. Lower-order batters Varun Deshpande (82) and Jagdish Zope (26) helped Jalgaon take first-innings lead (253) against Ahmednagar (247) at Barne ground.Aryans took first innings lead against Cadence at Poona Club. Poona club took three points for first innings lead against Club of Maharashtra at MCA stadium.DVCA trials next month Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy will conduct selection trials at their Thergaon ground in Pimpri-Chinchwad. It will be conducted in various age-groups beginning from April 18. Trials will be from 1.30 pm to 6 pm. The candidates must be present in whites dress and proper cricket kit along with original birth certificate and aadhaar card.The schedule: April 18: Girls 15-19; Born between Sept 1, 2004 and August 31, 2011; April 19: Boys U-12; September 1, 2012 and Aug 31, 2015April 20: Boys U-14, Sept 1, 2010 and Aug 31, 2012; April 21: Boys U-16, Sept 1, 2008 and Aug 31, 2010; May 16: Boys U-19: Sept 1, 2005 and Aug 31, 2008. tnn
