Woman (40) stabs her father to death, arrested

Pune: Khadak police have arrested a 40-year-old woman for stabbing her 70-year-old father, a daily wage worker, to death at their residence in Kasewadi around 11pm on Sunday.

The deceased man’s wife (60) lodged a complaint in this regard with the Khadak police station on Monday.

Senior inspector Shashikant Chavan of Khadak police told TOI, “The accused woman’s mother told us that her husband used to get drunk almost every day and they he used to abuse and harass his daughter. The daughter is not married and does not work”.

“Due to constant harassment, the arrested woman was upset and depressed. Enraged by his behaviour, the arrested woman picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the chest, killing him on the spot”, Chavan said.
