Biker crushed under truck

Raipur: A 47-year-old man riding a bike came under the grip of truck when it suddenly took a turn and was crushed to death at around 7PM on Thursday near Sankara overbridge of Raipur district.The police officials said that Bhupendra Sahu, a resident of Kharora near Raipur, was heading towards his home from a family function when near the Sankra overbridge, a heavy vehicle travelling from Bilaspur road to Raipur suddenly took a turn. The speeding biker rammed into the heavy vehicle, came under the wheels and was dragged for 30 meters. By the time the truck driver stopped the vehicle, the victim was crushed to death.The locals stopped their vehicles to help the victim and informed the police. While the crowd was gathered near the victim after the accident, a VIP convoy passed by but it did not stop, added the police.Due to the crowd, the driver of the heavy vehicle somehow managed to escape. The body of the deceased was sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination and family was informed. A report has been filed and the investigation is underway, said the police.TNN

Bikers snatch bag from bank employee in Raipur Rani

A case has been registered in Panchkula after three men on a motorcycle snatched a bag from a bank employee. The bag contained sensitive documents, including a fingerprint scanner machine. The employee had collected loan money and was going towards Naraingarh when the incident occurred. The accused fled the scene with cash, a mobile phone, and other personal belongings. The police are investigating the matter.

Ganpati Visarjan: Raipur police release route chart for commuters

Raipur police has released a route chart for commuters during the immersion of Lord Ganesh idols. Goods carrier vehicles are banned from entering the city on Saturday and Sunday. The immersion journey starts from Rathore Chowk and culminates at Mahadev Ghat. After the immersion, vehicles will take the return route through Mahadev Ghat junction, Bhathagaon Chowk, and Ring Road One. The entry and parking of heavy and medium goods-carrying vehicles will be restricted on the procession routes. Diversions have been arranged to ensure smooth traffic flow during the immersion. Visitors and drivers are urged to follow parking arrangements and avoid restricted routes.

Bihar: 3 crushed to death by truck on Nawada-Gaya road

Three people were killed and one injured when a speeding truck hit them on Nawada-Gaya road. The victims were identified as Akash Chouhan, Nandu Chauhan, and Prahlad Chauhan. The injured person, Praduman Chauhan, is being treated at the hospital. The driver of the truck managed to escape, but efforts are being made to apprehend him. The local authorities have provided an ex gratia amount of Rs 20,000 to the families of the deceased.
