Chhattisgarh beat AP by eight wickets in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Raipur: Chhattisgarh registered a convincing eight wicket win over Andhra Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy One Day match, played at Bangalore, on Wednesday. Winning the toss, Chhattisgarh opted to bowl first. Put into bat, Andhra Pradesh could score 144 after losing all their wickets, with 7.3 overs to spare. Nitish Kumar Reddy contributed the highest 50 off 54 (four fours, two sixes) to the total while Abhishek Reddy and Ashwin Hebar made 29 and 23 respectively.Chhattisgarh spinner Sumit Ruikar claimed four scalps of the opponent while Shubham Agrawal took three and Ravi Kiran took two wickets. Chasing the target of 145, Chhattisgarh achieved the victory in 26.3 overs for the loss of two wickets as Harpreet Singh Bhatia remained unbeaten on 65 from 54 balls (seven fours, two sixes) Amandeep Khare remained unbeaten on 35 off 41 (three fours, one six). Earlier, Opener Sanidhya Hurkat made 24 off 29.Girinath Reddy and Shoaib Mohammed took one wicket each for Andhra Pradesh.
