: As Covid-19 cases dip and restrictions are eased across the state, the two-day festival at Bhoramdeo temple in Kawardha is being held this year—after a two-year gap.
The festivities kicked off with the traditional dance performances by the Baiga tribe on the temple premises and Lord Shiva's worship. Bollywood singers and dancers are scheduled to perform during the festival as well.
This time, a platform is being provided to local and regional artists of Chhattisgarh. Tourists and devotees come from various places. They will have the opportunity to enjoy the cultural programmes organised on the temple premises. The event will have multiple programmes. There will be a confluence of the country's different cultural disciplines, including Jasgeet, Baiga dance, Karma dance, bamboo song,
Ram bhajan
, and many more.
Charan Tirath of Bodla block, Mohtu Singh of Baiga Karma dancer team Barpani, and fellow Baiga dancers will give their performance on the first day of the festival. Pandavani by
Rambai Sahu
of Kawardha, Jasgeet of Ramsay Sahu and Dhanesh Vishwakarma, Bhoramdev Bamboo Geet by
Puniram Yadav
and Bhajan Mandali of
Revaram Chandravanshi
will perform. Schoolchildren will present cultural performances as well.
Anuradha Singh from Bhopal will perform Kathak, Raju Sahu of Bodla will present Chhattisgarhi folk songs and dance in Gurtur dialect. Bollywood singer Aishwarya Pandit will belt super hit songs. This will be followed by Jagrata and folk song singer of Chhattisgarh Dilip Shadangi’s performance A laser light show will be organised in between.
